This war started in 1990 and it began with the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. One of the reasons was that Iraq accused Kuwait of taking oil from Iraq's area. This was the triggering reason to why Iraq invaded Kuwait. Iraq conquered Kuwait with a big troop, approximately 100 000 people fought for Iraq in the attack. Many of the big nations in the world did not like this, especially because Iraq prepared to invade Saudi Arabia as well. The UN demanded that Iraq would take their soldiers out of Kuwait.
They didn't do this so a war started between Iraq and a group of soldiers from many countries. USA led this group, and they were called the allies. According to Store Norske Leksikon, consisted this big group of more than 700 000 men and they were of course much stronger than the Iraq army. The allies used air forces and ground forces to press Iraq out of Kuwait.
The result of the war was that Iraq had to surrender and take their troops out of Kuwait. This war had many bad consequences for Iraq. Many nations refused to buy goods from Iraq, and this was horrible for the civilians beacause they suffered big economic losses as a result of this. The war ended 28th of February 1991.
